Prefilling

Die closing and slow pre-filling phases of the casting process are carried out in specific synchronisation. 

The melt is conveyed to the nozzle tip with the die open, preventing most air inclusions. 

 Advantages: 

 + Reduction of the proportion of air in the component by approx. 20% 

 + Reduction of cycle time by 0.3-0.5 sec. 

 + Higher component density 

 + Improvement of component strength 

 + Easy and safe operation due to specially developed screen pages

Shot-Stop

With the ‘shot stop’ function you can also minimize the velocity at the end of the filling phase. 

In this way pressure peaks and flash formation are reduced. 

 Advantages: 

 + Prevention of flash formation 

 + Reduction of pressure peaks in the casting system 

 + Simple programming of target values in physical dimensions via the screen page ‘Plunger profile input’.

Example

Multi-Chamber Furnace with pump

The melt is conveyed by a pump that transfers the liquid melt completely below the metal bath level. 

The bath level in the gooseneck chamber is constant as a result, in order to guarantee an absolutely uniform dosing of the melt. 

The furnace has high melting power and is connected to the machine control via the Frech Furnace Interface (FFI). 

All inputs and data are recorded in the DATALOGIC control system.
